A year-in-review
Hi MUD and Redstone builders, and happy 2024!
We’re gearing up for a jam-packed year — we have the finalization of the MUD audit, the launch of Redstone mainnet, Sky Strife on mainnet, not to mention all of the exciting MUD and Redstone projects built by our incredible community. There’s a lot to look forward to, and we can’t thank you enough for your support and feedback.
In case you missed it, we hosted an End-of-Year call in December, which served as a way to round up all of the most important events of the year. The summary thread is here, and the full recording is here.
In late 2023, we announced Redstone, a Plasma-inspired alt DA chain for the OP Stack. The Redstone Holesky testnet is currently live, and has already begun to see lots of activity. Redstone Holesky played host to Season 0 of Sky Strife, which saw over 225k transactions. Those transactions would’ve cost over 4k ETH (~$9 million!) on mainnet, but cost only 0.1ETH (~$230!) on Redstone. In addition to Sky Strife, projects like Gaul, DF Archon, Aether Sands, and many more have deployed on Redstone Holesky.
We also took time to thank members across the entire MUD community, especially PR’s made by dk1a, boffee, willfireflames, and johngrantuk. In addition, we have a number of community built plugins for Unity, Svelte, PWAs, Godot, and Swift.
We’re gearing up for an exciting year, and we especially want to hear about the projects you’re building. For the End-of-Year call we put together a short reel highlighting some of the projects building on MUD, and now we want to expand the call out to you all, and hear from anyone building a project using MUD or Redstone. We want to invite any team / project that didn't have a video in the reel to submit a 1-minute video of gameplay for an upcoming supercut of MUD and / or Redstone projects that we'll be assembling. There's no need for you to include voiceover, just a screen recording of gameplay and any other relevant footage you'd like included. Please send the videos to me at vera@lattice.xyz. We'll be accepting videos until next Tuesday, and reach out if you have any questions! In the submission, please say whether you're using MUD, Redstone, or both!
